The Special Assistant to Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi State on Social Investment, Alhaji Mansur Manu Soro, has said the federal government through the National Cash Transfer Office settled the payment of the 6th round of N5, 000 monthly cash payment to poor and vulnerable persons across the 20 LGAs in Bauchi State.
Speaking with journalists at NUJ Secretariat, Alh Manu Soro stated that the payment was for the months of October and November 2017.
“The State Ministry of Budget and Planning has succeeded in expanding the social register (SR) through community based targeting approach and increase the number of beneficiaries to 20,302 from 10,704 and LGAs from 12 to 20 in the state.
“Payment for the months of October and November 2017 is been effected by the approved mobile money operator at over 30 payment designated centres in the State.
Soro informed that with the 6th round of payment, a whooping N742million has been injected into the state’s economy through the CCT implementation.
Bauchi remains the most widely acknowledged state in the northern region implementing all the four components of social investment programmes simultaneously,” Manu Soro said.
