Ex COAS Buratai Bags Chieftaincy Of Biu

More recognitions have continued coming Ng to former Chief of Army Staff and former Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Burstai, as he has been conffered with the chieftaincy title of the Betara of Biu in Borno state.
Emir of Biu, Mai Mustapha Umar Mustapha II conveyed this to the retired Army officer in a letter delivered to him in Abuja recently.
Our correspondent reports that, the title is the third in the hierachy of kingmaker’s of the emirate, after the Birma and thlefur.
In the letter delivered on behalf of the Emir to Buratai, the Biu emirate council extolled the virtues of the conferee, describing him as a worthy son of the emirate who has distinguished himself in his chosen career and in other human endeavours.
The letter stated that, he was chosen based on his many accomplishments and for making Biu emirate a pride of place.
According to the bearers of the letter, the Jadafur Thlefur of Biu, General Buratai merits the highest recognition being accorded sons and daughters if the emirate, given his outstanding contributions to the development of the area: most especially for spearheading the establishment if the Nigerian Army University, Biu.
No date has been fixed for the formal turbanning of Buratai, but sources from the emirate council hinted of December, 2022 as a more likely period.
