According to the Rivers State Police Command, three suspected cultists were killed during a shootout in the Udebu community of Ahoada East Local Government Area. The clash occurred as members of the Iceland and Greenland cult groups were preparing for a supremacy battle before the police intervened.Acting on a tip-off, police operatives arrived at the scene around 5pm and swiftly returned fire after being shot at by suspected cultists. The exchange resulted in the death of three individuals. According to a community source, the leader of one of the gangs and several others managed to escape with bullet wounds. Among those killed was a cultist identified as Bright, along with two others.According to an anonymous source, a gang leader and two others managed to escape with injuries after being shot by the police. The police recovered a locally-fabricated G-3 rifle, a locally-fabricated pistol, charms, and other weapons from the suspects.The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Superintendent of Police Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident and stated that three cultists were killed. She explained that the police received credible information about the ongoing supremacy battle between the cultists and mobilized their men. The police successfully neutralized three of the cultists. Iringe-Koko also mentioned that an investigation is ongoing to apprehend other gang members involved in the incident.
