The Ogun State Police Command conducted a public parade of over 40 suspects involved in crimes such as cultism, murder, and armed robbery. The Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, presented the suspects to journalists at the police headquarters in Abeokuta, revealing that they were apprehended both within and outside the state.
Among the suspects were Michael Bob, Abdul Omotoyosi, and Adeshina Idris, who were arrested in Mushin, Lagos State, for their alleged involvement in conspiracy, armed robbery, and stealing. During their arrest, a stolen Toyota car was recovered.
Another individual, Austin Omoh, was arrested in Maroko, Lagos State, for his alleged participation in an armed robbery incident in Ogun State. A stolen Toyota Sequoia SUV with the license plate AAA 631 HX was seized from him.
Furthermore, Wasiu Odubote was apprehended for shop breaking and stealing in Igbeba, Ijebu-Ode. The police took him into custody for further investigation.The Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, disclosed that Wasiu Odubote and his gang members forcibly entered a spare parts shop located on Old Ondo Road. However, due to the swift response and intervention of the Divisional Police Officer and his team, Odubote was apprehended at the scene of the crime.
Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police revealed that while Odubote’s accomplices managed to escape, a tricycle with the license plate GBE 144VX was recovered at the scene.
Additionally, Adedapo Taiwo, Arogundade Idowu, Noah Jogunom, and James Abiodun were paraded after being arrested in Kobape, Abeokuta. They were allegedly planning to disrupt the inauguration of the state governor, Dapo Abiodun’s second term. The suspects were found in possession of a Barreta pistol, live ammunition, and charms.
In another operation in Atan-Ijebu, the police arrested Onasanya Opeoluwa, Friday Daniel, Otuneye Samuel, and Ayanbade Owolabi for their involvement in cultism. During the arrest, the police confiscated a locally-made double-barrel gun, a locally-made short gun, an axe, a dagger, a jackknife, and substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

Moreover, Sulaiman Ajagunjeun and Opeyemi Adesegun were arrested in Itoko for their suspected participation in cult-related altercations. During questioning, they reportedly admitted to being members of the Aiye confraternity.
Addressing the escalating incidents of cultism within the state, Commissioner Oladimeji affirmed that the police command would persistently pursue and apprehend individuals involved in such activities.
