Former Kaduna Commissioners urge Tinubu to reevaluate El-Rufai for Minister position.

Former Kaduna State commissioners, who served under ex-Governor Nasir El-Rufai, have implored President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to maintain his intention of appointing El-Rufai as a minister.

Meeting on Tuesday in Kaduna as part of the Like Minds Forum of Nigeria, the ex-commissioners underscored El-Rufai’s longstanding alliance with President Tinubu, noting that even El-Rufai’s critics recognize this bond.

Led by the former Commissioner of Education, Dr. Shehu Usman Muhammad, the Forum includes Ibrahim Hussaini, Hafsat Baba, and Dr. Amina Mohammed Baloni.

The group highlighted El-Rufai’s crucial role in facilitating the leadership transition to the southern region and President Tinubu’s rise to power.

Addressing allegations against El-Rufai, the Forum remarked that these are mere tactics by factions aiming to discredit him and President Tinubu. They praised El-Rufai for his significant contributions to the nation and expressed his readiness to further serve Nigeria.

The group also expressed their dissatisfaction with the Senate’s decision not to confirm El-Rufai as a minister, stating it’s a letdown to the people of Kaduna State and the entire nation.
