Former Super Falcons Coaches Call for Transparent Selection Process for Managerial Position

By  Milcah  Tanimu

Former Super Falcons coaches, Godwin Izilien and Edwin Okon, are urging the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to open up the managerial position for the Super Falcons to a transparent selection process. They argue that this approach will ensure the selection of the most suitable coach to lead the women’s team.

Izilien stresses the importance of appointing an experienced coach to transform the Super Falcons and expresses concerns about the lack of transparency in the selection process, emphasizing the need to avoid marginalizing domestic coaches.

Okon echoes these sentiments, proposing that an open application process for the coaching position would foster healthy competition and facilitate the identification of the best technical candidate for the team. He also expresses his interest in coaching the Super Falcons if the opportunity arises.

Both coaches share the belief that the Super Falcons require a capable and experienced leader to guide the team toward success.
