The House of Representatives’ Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has lauded the choice of Alhaji Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi as the governorship candidate of the party in Kwara State for the 2023 general elections.
He observed that the PDP had proved the naysayers wrong that it was not capable of picking the best in the choice of candidates in preparation for the forthcoming polls.
Ajia said this in a congratulatory message he issued in Ilorin after the emergence of Abdullahi at the state PDP governorship primary election held in Ilorin on Wednesday, while congratulating the party for the transparency, openness and fairness exhibited at the mock election.
The security expert, who is also the founder of Mohammed Ajia Ibrahim (MAI) Foundation boasted that Kwarans cannot wait for his party to return to power in 2023 due to what he referred to as wasted years of vision-less leadership in the state.
Ajia expressed optimism that the PDP possesses the magic wand to unlock the potential that abound in the state for the benefit of the citizenry thereby restoring the state to the path of economic viability, security and gainful employment opportunities, especially for the teeming youth.
The House of Representatives candidate praised the party leader and President of the Eight Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and other eminent stakeholders for placing the interest of the people of Kwara above other considerations in the emergence of the PDP gubernatorial flag-bearer.
Ajia said: “I heartily felicitate Your Excellency ALHAJI Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi on your emergence as the Gubernatorial Candidate of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State in the just concluded primary election.
“Your overwhelming choice as the flag-bearer of our party in this historic shadow poll is a testimony to the readiness of the people of Kwara State to collectively return the PDP to power in 2023 and begin in earnest, the restoration of the state to the path of economic viability, security and gainful employment opportunities, especially for our teeming youth.
“Kwarans have watched with utter regret how things have deteriorated in the last three years and are willing, more than ever before, to make PDP their best choice in the forthcoming general elections.
“With your emergence as the Gubernatorial Candidate in a transparent, open and fair process, our great party, the PDP has proved to the naysayers that it is capable of picking the best in the choice of candidates as we move towards the electioneering period.
“As for our great party, it is now crystal clear that Kwarans have spoken and loudly so that they can’t wait to have PDP come back to recover the wasted years of visionless leadership in our state. Indeed, our party holds the key to unlock the potentials that abound in our dear state.
“Our leader and President of the Eight Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and other eminent stakeholders in our great party have again shown to the world that the choice of the electorate should be respected and this they have exhibited in all the primary elections held so far.
“While Kwarans are anxiously beckoning on us, PDP, to reclaim the mandate for them in 2023, I implore our esteemed members, supporters, all and sundry to rededicate ourselves, renew our commitment and work assiduously for the success of our party in the forthcoming general elections.
