The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued Certificates of Return to the winners of Saturday’s rerun and by-elections during a ceremony held at the INEC headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
Among the recipients of the certificates were Prof. Anthony Okorie, who emerged as the Senator-elect for Ebonyi South, Mr. Pam Dachungyang, who won the Senate seat for Plateau North, and Musa Mustapha, the Senator-elect for Yobe East.
Other recipients included Ifeanyi Ozokwe, who emerged as the Representative-elect for Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo, Clara Nnabuife, the Representative-elect for Orumba North/Orumba South, Ehindero Babatunde, who won the House of Representatives seat for Akoko North East/Akoko North West, and Daniel Ago, the Representative-elect for Jos North/Basa.
After receiving his certificate, Prof. Okorie dedicated his victory to the people of Ebonyi South, urging them to trust him as their representative in the Senate.
Senator-elect Ozokwe expressed appreciation to INEC for conducting a free, fair, and credible election, emphasizing the importance of strong institutions for Nigeria’s progress.
Ozokwe also praised President Bola Tinubu for not interfering in the rerun and by-elections and commended the professionalism of security personnel during the electoral process.
Clara Nnabuife expressed gratitude to the people of Orumba North/Orumba South, particularly the women, for their support and trust, pledging to fulfill her mandate faithfully.
