The Kwara State Command, Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has organised a workshop on report gathering and writing for its officers and men with a view to enhancing their skills and knowledge.
Addressing the participants in Ilorin, the state capital, the Commandant, Makinde Iskil Ayinla, said: “The core objective of the workshop is to equip officers and men with powerful and impact-based knowledge in security report writing.
“The training is centered on how to write a clear, detailed and concise narrative report for effective communication. I urge you to take the workshop seriously in order to derive immense benefits that will enhance your work and service delivery.”
The Resource Person, Mujidat Oyewole Bello, disclosed that a good security report should include date and time of the incident, location and address of the incident, the details of the incident and account of what happened, among others.
She analysed six important things to consider when writing a report, which, according to her, are: Who, Why, Where, When, What and How, adding that the six questions are germane for a report to have good meaning and for the reader to understand what the report is all about.
The Area (C) Commander, Acc Adebiyi Adebisi, in his renarks, said the seminar was timely and apt, adding that the workshop has exposed him to the rules of writing good reports.
Pake divisional officer, CSC Joshua Tunde, appreciated the state Commandant for his efforts in making sure that officers and men of the Command are sufficiently groomed for the corps’ statutory functions.
The workshop had in attendance Heads of Departments, Area Commanders and divisional officers of Kwara state Command.
