Kwara PDP, Aides Hail Saraki’s Appointment As IHRC Ambassador

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state has congratulated the Senate President and national leader of the party, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki on his appointment as an Ambassador-at-Large of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC).

The party in a statement signed by its state chairman, Hon. Kola Shittu described the appointment as well-deserved, in view of the Senate President’s capacity, astuteness and wealth of experience.

It added: “We are, therefore, not surprised by his appointment as IHRC Ambassador-at-Large. It is well-deserved and is no doubt in recognition of his commitment to the promotion of human rights, justice and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.

“This international honour is a notable feat, and we are proud of our leader, Dr Bukola Saraki for bringing honour and respect to our dear Kwara state. We urge him not to relent in his selfless service to Kwara state, Nigeria and humanity in general.

“It is gladdening and reassuring that notwithstanding the ceaseless attacks and campaign of calumny against him by some disgruntled politicians, Dr Bukola Saraki continues to soar higher and attracts both local and international recognitions.

“Once again, we congratulate the Senate President and wish him the best in his new assignment. We are confident that his performance in this new capacity will surpass the expectations of the IHRC. We hope and pray for more notable successes for our distinguished leader.

“The party also commends the IHRC for finding Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki worthy of the appointment.”

Also, the Senate President’s legislative aides have described his appointment appointment as “Ambassador-at-Large” of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) as well deserved.

The legislative aides in a statement signed by their Kwara central coordinator, Alh Rasaq Oba Bolanta said the appointment was certainly in recognition of the Senate President’s selfless service to humanity.

They expressed delight that despite attempts by political foes to malign Saraki, he has continued to attract national and international recognition from reputable organisations like the International Human Rights Commission.

While congratulating him over the new feather that has been added to his cap, the legislative aides enjoined him not to relent in his humanitarian services to the people of Kwara state, in particular, and Nigeria at large.

They equally expressed delight over the successful outing of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) nationwide in the last general elections under his watch as the national leader of the party.
