Kwara will give priority attention to infrastructure, says Dep Governor

Kwara State government has restated its resolve to give priority attention to infrastructural development in the state in view of its strategic importance to the people and the overall development of the state.

State Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi stated this on Wednesday in Ilorin while receiving in audience executives and members of Oro-Ago Descendants Union, ODU, led by its National President, Elder Olatunji Kadir in his office.

Alabi assured them that necessary attention would be given to the road and culvert leading to the town to make it passable, especially for easy transportation of goods and services, adding that people, particularly the youth would be empowered to make them contribute their quota to the economic development of their families and the State.

He urged communities in Oro-Ago land to be united so as to attract meaningful developmental projects to the area, while also admonishing them to use their educational advantage to industrialise the area.

Alabi challenged the youth to have new mindsets towards entrepreneurship rather than embracing thuggery that would soil their names, families and their careers.

Thanking the people of his community for the visit and support, the Deputy Governor urged them to sustain the tempo in order to ensure the success of the present administration.

Earlier, the President of Oro-Ago Descendants Union, ODU, Elder Olatunji Kadir, had felicitated with the Governor and his deputy on their victory at the poll.

Elder Kadir appreciated God’s intervention in the State, lamenting that Kwara is one of the first generation states in the Country but not in terms of performance.

He lauded the government for its determination to move the state to the next level and promised the government of their total support and loyalty.

The ODU National President called for the upgrading of their Royal Father and the intervention of the State government in some challenges facing the area such as the construction of Oro Ago culvert and the inclusion of Oro-Ago people in governance.
