Labour To Shut Nasarawa Tomorrow

Government Activities will be grounded from Tomorrow until further notice following call on workers to embark on indefinite strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Nasarawa state chapter after the elapse of 7 days ultimatum given been to Governor Umar Tanko Almakura to implement all agreements reached between government and the organized labour.

The labour decision come up at the end of their emergency meeting that took place at Makurdi roads ,labour house Lafia on Thursday.

The labour leaders expressed worries over government attitude to turn deaf ears on all agreement reached and failed to implement any as according to them these exposed a lot of workers to untold hardships in the state.

Some of the areas that needed urgent attention include non implantation of promotion and payment of local government workers as at when due, as such enough is a enough for re-screening grading and regrading workers .

The organized labour disassociated itself from any action that will tend compound the workers suffering in the state , just as they want the outcome of biometric data capture on local government to be made public known without any excuses as that will not longer accepted.

Speaking with our correspondent on phone the state Chairman of NLC , Comrade Abdullahi Adeka confirmed that government turned down all agreement between them and the Labour.
“We are not resuming to work until all our demands is being implemented.

Adeka called on workers to remain on their homes while waiting for further communication by the union.
