Man in Court for Allegedly Removing Neighbor’s Scrotum

Dominic Kenneth, a 33-year-old man, appeared in an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday for allegedly causing grievous harm to his neighbor by removing his scrotum.

Kenneth, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of causing grievous harm and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to the Prosecutor, ASP Christian Okonofua, the incident occurred on March 1 at about 12:20 p.m. at No 1, Abdul Rasaq Street, Balogun area of Ikorodu.

Okonofua stated that Kenneth unlawfully caused grievous harm to his neighbor and co-shop owner in the market, Mr. Pascal Uche, by allegedly removing one scrotum from his private part during a fracas.

The offence contravenes Section 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which stipulates seven years in prison if found guilty.

The Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Onalaja, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned until March 14 for mention.
