The 2022/23 season was a disappointing one for Chelsea, as they finished 12th in the Premier League with a club-record low of 44 points. As a result, the club is prioritizing summer signings to address their lack of goals. Bringing Victor Osimhen to Stamford Bridge is seen as a necessary step, although the Nigerian striker has expressed his desire to play among Europe’s top clubs in the upcoming season.

Osimhen played a crucial role in Napoli’s title-winning campaign, forming an impressive partnership with Georgian international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and helping the club secure their first league title in 33 years. The 24-year-old striker had a remarkable season, scoring 31 goals and providing five assists in just 39 appearances across all competitions.

However, any potential deal to acquire the former Lille star may face some challenges. Napoli has set a hefty valuation of £150 million for Osimhen, a fee that would surpass the British transfer record.
