Police in Edo State Successfully Apprehend Kidnappers in Kano after Ransom Collection

The Edo State Police Command has apprehended four suspected kidnappers in Kano, identified as Aminu Sadio (24), Umar Aminu (22), Adamu Abubakar (30), and Adamu Tahir (30). These individuals, accused of kidnapping victims in Fugar, Etsako West local government of Edo State, were traced and captured by the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the Edo Police Command.

The arrests followed a reported kidnapping incident on January 23 in Fugar, Edo State, where four individuals were abducted. The kidnappers allegedly collected ransom through Union Bank and Moniepoint. The police, through intelligence-based investigation, identified Aminu Sadio and Umar Aminu as the account owners receiving the ransom funds.

In addition to the account owners, the police also arrested Adamu Abubakar and Adamu Tahir as accomplices in the kidnapping case. The successful apprehension in Kano showcases the effectiveness of the police’s efforts in tracking and capturing criminal elements involved in such activities.
