Polls: Latinwo backs Tinubu, Kwara Governor AbdulRazaq, others

Former Military Governor of Kwara State, Chief Salaudeen Adebola Latinwo, has thrown his weight behind the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the second term bid of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in the forthcoming general elections.

The elder statesman stated this in a statement he personally signed from the United Kingdom and mailed to newsmen in Ilorin, saying Tinubu had over the years demonstrated sincerity of purpose, honesty, high level of integrity in governance and endeared himself to the populace.

It would be recalled that Latinwo, a retired Group Captain in the Nigerian Air force, served as Military Governor of Kwara State from January 1984 to August 1985.

He said: “Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State, is a man of the people, who is well acknowledged across Kwara State and the entire country.”

While also canvassing support for the incumbent Governor of Kwara state, the senior citizen extolled his virtues, describing him as a honest, hard working, sagacious and an intelligent personality.

He said: “Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is a man of high integrity. Besides, his administration has positively impacted the lives of Kwarans in all ramifications. Consequently, it is incumbent on us to reward him by casting our votes for him and his party at the state and national levels.”

He added: “Governor AbdulRazaq is a result-oriented individual, who takes his time doing the right things. Giving him a second term would enable him to complete all the ongoing projects started by his administration and embark on new ones for the good of the citizenry.

“He is a man of the people who is well known acrods the state and the country at large. Please, do not waste your votes, and the only way to ensure your vote is not wasted is to cast it for the performing Governor AbdulRazaq.”

The former Governor, who congratulated the AbdulRazaq on his 63rd birthday anniversary, particularly enjoined the people of Ilorin Emirate, Offa and Oyun Local Government Areas and Kwara North axis to cast their votes for the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, incumbent Governor AbdulRazaq and all APC candidates across board.
