President Tinubu’s Recognition of Oba Sikiru Adetona

President Bola Tinubu recently bestowed the prestigious Grand Commander of the Order of Nigeria (GCON) award upon Oba Sikiru Adetona, the revered Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland, in celebration of his 90th birthday. The ceremony, held at the Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, was attended by dignitaries and well-wishers from across the nation.

Representing President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima praised Awujale as an exceptional figure in Nigerian democracy, highlighting his steadfast commitment to national development. The President commended the royal father’s sincerity of purpose and courage, which have garnered admiration and respect nationwide.

In addition to the GCON award, President Tinubu announced that the management of the Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance would be entrusted to the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos. This move underscores the significance of promoting effective governance and leadership, aligning with Oba Sikiru Adetona’s legacy of service and dedication to his community and the nation at large.
