Rainstorm Wreaks Havoc In Ilorin

Many residential buildings and shops were submerged in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, following a downpour in the early hours of Saturday.

The heavy rain lasted about three hours and was accompanied by flood.

The asphalt on some township roads was also washed away by the flood. The bridge on Alagbado road linking Sobi Specialist Hospital was also washed away by the flood.

One of the communities ravaged by the flood was Idi-Igba Were/Harmony Estate Road, leaving most of the residential houses, shops and cars flooded with attendant destruction.

Other areas affected by the flood include Dada area, Okelele Aduralere, Amilegbe and Mubo streets where many houses and property were damaged.
