Sheriff has Capacity to Reconcile, Rebuild and Reposition PDP – Arabi

By Yahaya WAKILI, Damaturu Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP North-East Region have thrown their weight behind the leadership of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the Party’s national chairman. Six states of the region comprising Adamawa, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe and Taraba have described the choice of Ali Modu as auspicious and apt considering the present state of the party. Speaking to newsmen in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital, North-East Coordinator of PDP PAN GLUB, Hon Mohammed Arabi Bello, said that at such a time as this, the party needs a man with an uncommon political attributes. According to him, “Sheriff is the product of a diligent and painstaking search for a leader with the capacity and political will to reconcile, rebuild and reposition our party for future success come 2019.” Bello said “We repose our confidence in the leadership of our able national chairman Ali Modu Sheriff and we members of
PDP north east region pledge our unalloyed loyalty and support to the national chairman of our great party (PDP).” “The PDP lost the presidency at the national level and surprisingly for the first time in the history of our great party PDP was relegated to an opposition platform but now enough of our tears, enough of our blame-shifting. “However, it is time for rebuilding. When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans and set soil once more towards your coveted goal, so I want to
assure you that PDP will reclaim Nigeria from APC in 2019,” he said. Bello added that the way out is a political solution where all stakeholders must come together and agree to withdraw all the court cases and allow Sheriff to conclude the convention and when officers are elected, they take over. He stated that law recognises him as the chairman there is no caretaker committee provision in our constitution, you don’t run the party in accordance with your wishers, you run a political party in accordance with the constitution.
