It was a melo- drama in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital  over the weekend when a visibly angry Emir of Muri,  Alhaji  Abbas Tafida, harshly ordered a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) out of his palace in Jalingo.

He angrily pronounced a curse on the APC leader, Engineer Ahmed Yusuf, and calling him “Dan iska” meaning hoodlum.

Trouble started when Yusuf who is also a prominent son of Muri emirate along with other prominent  dignitaries accompanied the former Governor of the State, Rev. Jolly Nyame who was at the palace to pay homage shortly after arriving in the State following his presidential pardon by President Buhari.

The Emir, on sighting Engineer Yusuf entering the palace ordered the palace guards to walk the APC leader out of the palace.

He described Ahmed as Munafuqin (betrayer) whom according  to the Emir was one of the factors and his ill advise that sent Rev.Jolly Nyame to prison.

The paramount ruler placed a curse on Ahmed Yusuf popularly called Gamaliya, saying”Allah ya tsine  maka Ahmadu).” He said.

The Emir emphatically informed former Governor Nyame and his entourage that he was ready for any mistaken child (bastard) that would be set to confront him the(Emir).

Earlier, Nyame who led his entourage to the  palace, thanked the paramount ruler for his concern and efforts to ensure that he regains his freedom.

He said that he had  forgiven all those who plotted for his going to jail adding that the four years he had spent in the correctional centre had tought him how to relate with people.

He assured the Emir of his readiness to support and encourage the development of Muri Emirate and Taraba State in general.

National Trail reports that Nyame was on his first visit to the state since his pardon by the Federal government.

The homecoming event had earlier become a theatre for politicians who jostled to gain from Nyame’s popularity.

The APC in particular had practically taken over the show as their flag bearer, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, had continuously aligned himself with the freed ex governor since his release from Kuje Prison. ///.
