Chiefdoms, kingdoms and empires have risen and fallen but destiny has brought and kept Borno, Yobe and Savannah States together. United and bound by ancestory, mixed inter-tribal marriages, similar languages (chadic/afroasiatic languages), similar culture, similar belief, thousands of years of shared history and a common aspiration for the good of our people.

From time memorial since before and during the time of the Kanem-Bornu empire to present day Borno State in Nigeria, the 3 eyed sister states of Borno/Yobe and Savannah have travelled, struggled, dwelled, lived and survived together fighting shoulder to shoulder, back to back as our brother’s keeper, watching each other’s back.

During the Uthman Danfodio conquest of Northern Nigeria, the 3 eyed sister states of Borno/Yobe/Savannah remained undefeated by all forms of external forces. This is evident today as it is our own people/kinsmen that lead us as Shehus, kings, Emirs and Chiefs and not invaders or foreigners.

The history of our oneness repeated itself in 1961 during a referendum on whether to join Cameroon or to Join Nigeria. And 5 local government Areas from the 3 eyed sister states voted unanimously to join their brothers and sisters in Nigeria.

Maiduguri (in Borno), the capital of the defunct North Eastern State of Nigeria has given birth to Borno/Bauchi and Gongola Sates in 1976, Borno went on to give birth to Yobe in 1991, Gongola splitted into Adamawa and Taraba States in 1991, and Bauchi gave birth to Gombe in 1996. Throughout this time Maiduguri (Borno), the mother of the North East was nurturing and grooming her 6th child and sister state, who has aspired for statehood since 1982 with memorandas and proposal for statehood in 1983, 1989, 1991, 1996, 2014, 2021 and now 2025.

Once again Maiduguri (Borno) the mother of the North East is fully pregnant, the time and hour has come for her to give birth to her 6th child and indivisible member of the 3 eyed sister states and this state shall be called – SAVANNAH STATE (The Evergreen Economy, green in both Agriculture and Clean Energy).

As a father will always prepare the best for his last born. Borno has prepared the best for Savannah to be the first to achieve statehood from her in this democratic dispensation.

The creation of Savannah State will bring governance closer to the people in a state already divided and bedeviled by insecurity with closed federal and state roads for over 15 years since 2009.

The Almighty God, nature, time, history (in life and agitation for statehood) and current prevailing circumstances of insecurity have spoken loud and clear, that our time is due, our time has come to achieve statehood as Savannah.

Southern Borno (Savannah state) that is disconnected from Maiduguri, the state capital for about 2 decades can now be able to develop a new prosperous and vibrant economy which is essential for the survival of its people to the south of Borno. A vibrant economy to the south of Borno will ensure constant movement of goods and services in the region and greatly reduce insecurity by the re-opening of closed roads in Borno state, the second largest state by land mass in Nigeria, second to only Niger State.

The creation of Savannah state will bring unprecedented development in Southern Borno and targeted approach to deal with our unique problems of insecurity and impoverishment.

Savannah state can have unique approaches and solution to problems in the health, power and energy, social, agriculture, commerce, education and all other sectors of the economy and spheres of life that is unique to her people

Savannah State being a grassland and agrarian state in the sudan/Guinea Savannah will heavily invest in agriculture and afforestation to end desert encroachment and regeneration of the sahel Savannah to once again be an arable soil and climate for farming.

As well, Savannah state will play a key role in our food security as Savannah has the potential to grow sufficient food to feed the three eyed sister states, the Northeast and Nigeria at large.

Savannah State being an Evergreen Economy in both Agriculture and Clean energy will be able to attract local and foreign investors to invest heavily in Savannah for the benefit of its people (Savannians), the 3 eyed sister states, North East and Nigeria at large

Savannah state being a plateau and home of solid minerals can fully harness its potentials for the development of her people and nation at large.

Savannah state just like Gombe state will be almost centralised in the north east region. Savannah will be bounded by 4 or 5 other states depending and an international boundary with Cameroon, which we will utilise to boost economic and commercial activities among the 3 eyed sister states and the entire North Eastern Region.

Together the 3 eyed sister states of Borno/Yobe/Savannnah will form a formidable voting bloc and a force to reckon with in the Nigerian Political space that can be likended to the 3k states of Kano, Kaduna and Katsina.

Come rain, come sunshine, the 3 eyed states of Borno/Yobe/Savannah will come to the aid of each other no matter the circumstances. History and ancestry has brought and will keep us together to fight once again shoulder to shoulder, back to back, watching each others back, our eyes shall be their eyes and their eyes shall be our eyes. A 3 bonded chain cannot be broken. We will not deny or take the brotherhood for granted. Indivisible we stand together as one.

Borno your child is ripe, mature and has come of age for statehood. Give birth to your Prescious one, one of its kind – Savannah State.

This is the yearning and aspirations of over 2 million people in Southern Borno – Savannah state.
Vox populi, vox Dei – “The voice of the people is the voice of God”

All hail the 3 eyed sister states!
All hail Borno State!
All hail Yobe State!
All hail the precious child – Savannah State (Diverse and Evergreen)!

KUMO CONGRATULATES TINUBU ON PRIMARY VICTORY: “NIGERIA HAS FOUND IN YOU A LEADER WORTHY OF HER TRUST “

Hon. Hamma-Adama Ali Kumo, popularly known as “Dattuwa”, Deputy National Financial Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairman of the Governing Board of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his landslide victory at the 2026 APC Presidential Primary Election.
In a warm and heartfelt message, Kumo described the President’s victory as a clear and resounding endorsement by millions of ordinary Nigerians who have seen, felt, and believed in his leadership.
“Mr. President, today the people have spoken. From the North to the South, from state to state and ward to ward, APC members came out in their millions to say — we are with you. This victory belongs to every Nigerian who believes in a better tomorrow,” Kumo said.
He praised President Tinubu for the courage and humility he demonstrated by subjecting himself to the democratic process — choosing to stand and be elected rather than using the power of incumbency to sidestep the people’s verdict.
“You are a President who could have taken the easy road. Instead, you opened the door to all, welcomed a challenger, and stood before the Nigerian people to be judged. That is the mark of a true democrat, and we are proud of you,” he said.
Kumo also celebrated the Electoral Act 2026 — signed by the President — which abolished the delegate system and empowered grassroots party members across all 8,809 wards to vote directly for their preferred candidate. He described it as one of the most important gifts any President has given to Nigerian democracy.
“You did not just talk about democracy. You legislated for it, and then you lived by it. That consistency of character is what sets you apart,” Kumo added.
As a member of the APC’s National Working Committee and Chairman of the ITF Governing Board — a position he holds by the confidence of the President — Kumo said he remained fully committed to supporting the Tinubu administration in delivering on its Renewed Hope agenda for all Nigerians.
He closed with a personal charge to the President.
“Your Excellency, the mandate is yours. The people trust you. Go and finish the work. Nigeria is counting on you, and we are all standing firmly behind you.”
