Gunmen have tragically taken the lives of three farmers in Taraba State. The attack took place on Tuesday in Kunkwa village within the Yangtu Special Development Area. The victims, identified as Rimamskep Atenji, Andekwab Ashasim, and ElKannah Akyara, were ambushed by the assailants en route to their farms.

The spokesperson for the Taraba Command, Abdullahi Usman, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspected perpetrators were believed to be Fulani bandits. The police, in partnership with other security agencies, are working to apprehend the individuals responsible. Local authorities have urged anyone with helpful information to step forward.

The incident further complicates relations between the Fulani and Kuteb communities, as a peace accord was already in place. Calls have intensified for the state government and security agencies to address the ongoing attacks.

In a separate incident in Katsina State, bandits kidnapped 14 villagers from three different localities in Sabuwa Local Council. These attacks took place in the early hours, targeting villages of Yakkaka, Yallagwada, and Maiturmi. Local vigilantes managed to rescue one of the victims.

Moreover, another similar incident was reported in Dandume Local Council where the son of Tudun Ali ward leader lost his life.

The police, acknowledging the gravity of the situation, have committed to intensifying efforts to secure the release of the kidnapped individuals and bring the culprits to justice.
