Unknown Gunmen Assassinate Ogun Chief, Baasegun Adeyinka Folarin

In a tragic incident, unknown gunmen have reportedly assassinated Adeyinka Folarin, popularly known as Baasegun, a traditional chief in the Itunsokun community in Ogun State. The gunmen, suspected to be cultists, attacked Folarin at his residence in Sagamu around 8 pm on Monday night.

Two anonymous traditional rulers have confirmed the killing, with one of them describing Baasegun as a popular traditional chief and a member of the Akarigbo in-council. The motive behind the attack is yet to be confirmed, and there is speculation that cultists may be involved. Tension is reportedly high in the town, with workers at the local government secretariat taking precautions to avoid potential crises.

The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, SP Omolola, has been contacted for a reaction, and more details are expected to emerge as the investigation unfolds.
