UTME: Soludo Urges Prompt Counseling and Therapy for Mmesomma

Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo has instructed that Mmesomma Joy Ejikeme, the female student who falsified her Unifief Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, be referred to the State Guidance Counselor and a Professor of Clinical Psychology for immediate intervention.

Soludo communicated this directive in a letter addressed to the Principal of Anglican Girls Secondary School Nnewi, where Mmesoma is enrolled.

Additionally, the governor mandated the prompt initiation of psychological counseling and therapy sessions for Mmesomma. On Thursday, July 6, 2023, she admitted to manipulating the fabricated results she had been presenting.

The letter, signed by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, stated that the governor’s decision was based on one of the recommendations put forth by the panel established to investigate the matter.

“This directive aligns with one of the recommendations made by the Committee constituted by the Anambra State Government to thoroughly examine the incident. The unveiling of the falsified results has sparked public interest, controversy, and concerns,” the statement added.
