Bode George Explains Lack of Support for Atiku’s 2023 Presidential Ambition

Bode George, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees, has denied claims that he did not support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s presidential bid in the 2023 election due to regional biases. During an appearance on a TVC political program, George clarified that his decision was rooted in concerns over Abubakar’s actions during the campaign, which he believes divided the party.

George emphasized that his opposition was based on principle, not tribalism. He pointed out that after President Buhari, who hails from the North, had served two terms, it was inappropriate to support another northern candidate for another eight years. George accused Abubakar of manipulating the party’s system, which ultimately led to a divided vote and the PDP’s loss in the election.

He also urged party members to prioritize the party’s future over personal ambitions as they prepare for the 2027 elections.
