Comrade Daniel Onjeh, the APC senatorial candidate for Benue South in 2023, has reiterated his stance on the seven-day ultimatum he issued to the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and the party’s National Working Committee (NWC). Onjeh accuses the suspended Benue State APC Chairman, Mr. Augustine Agada, and his associates of attempting to associate Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, with his ultimatum.
Onjeh clarifies that his ultimatum to Ganduje and the APC NWC stems from his petition concerning anti-party activities against Mr. Agada. He emphasizes that Governor Alia has no involvement in his actions and urges detractors to refrain from dragging the governor into the issue.
Furthermore, Onjeh’s campaign organization dismisses a publication and broadcast alleging Governor Alia’s involvement in the ultimatum. They attribute these reports to falsehoods and propaganda, orchestrated by individuals aiming to distract from the real issues within the APC in Benue State.
Prince Maxwell Ogiri, speaking on behalf of Onjeh’s campaign organization, asserts that Governor Alia has maintained a stance of justice and fairness throughout the matter, respecting party decisions and upholding the principles of the APC constitution.
Ogiri emphasizes that Onjeh’s petition against Agada and his ultimatum to Ganduje are solely based on adherence to the APC constitution. He reiterates that Governor Alia’s integrity remains intact, and attempts to implicate him in the matter are unfounded.
Onjeh reiterates his call for the APC NWC to address his petition within the stipulated timeframe, in accordance with the party’s constitution. He warns against attempts to divert attention from the core issues at hand and urges the party’s national leadership to ensure peace and stability within the Benue State chapter of the APC.
