Nigerian artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has gracefully extended his congratulations to South African female rapper Tyla for clinching victory in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony.
Tyla’s track ‘Water’ triumphed over tough competition, including ‘Amapiano’ by Asake and Olamide, ‘City Boys’ by Burna Boy, ‘Unavailable’ by Davido featuring Musa Keys, and ‘Rush’ by Ayra Starr.
In a tweet, Davido expressed his warm regards, saying, “Congratulations on your win @Tyllaaaaaaa! Big One for Africa! Keep soaring!” Despite facing Grammy defeat himself, Davido displays sportsmanship and celebrates the achievement of his fellow African artist.
