Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State have taken proactive steps by establishing various committees, with a primary focus on reconciling aggrieved members within the party.
Under the umbrella of the Ekiti State Coalition of PDP Stakeholders, these committees were inaugurated to address diverse areas of concern and facilitate progress and unity within the party.
A communique issued after the ECOPS meeting and shared with journalists in Ado Ekiti outlined the formation of several committees, including the Reconciliation Committee, Mobilisation Committee, Contact Committee, Planning Committee, Implementation Committee, Monitoring Committee, Evaluation Committee, and Media and Publicity Committee.
The signatories of the communique included representatives from PDP local government chairmen, alongside 50 other esteemed leaders, including notable figures such as former Southwest Chairman Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, former state chairman Gboyega Oguntuwase, and former acting governor Tunji Odeyemi.
In charging the committees with their respective duties, the coalition emphasized the importance of promoting unity and harmony within the party. They urged all leaders and factions to desist from exacerbating discord and to prioritize the overall interests of the party and its members.
Furthermore, the coalition commended Senator Biodun Olujimi, a prominent PDP leader in Ekiti State, for her remarkable efforts in fostering unity and reconciliation within the party. They acknowledged her pivotal role in strengthening the party and facilitating the reconciliation of numerous aggrieved members.
The initiation of these reconciliation committees reflects the party’s commitment to resolving internal conflicts and fostering a cohesive and united front in Ekiti State.
