Embarba matches Kalu’s goal record at Almeria

 

Spanish footballer Adri Embarba has achieved a significant milestone by equaling the goal-scoring record of Nigerian player Kalu Uche Almeria. Embarba, aged 31 years and 28 days, became the oldest player to score a brace for Almeria in La Liga. This achievement surpasses the previous record set by Uche in September 2010 when he scored two goals at the age of 27. Embarba’s impressive feat occurred during a crucial match against his former club Real Valladolid, where his two late goals resulted in Valladolid’s relegation to the Spanish Segunda Division while Almeria secured their safety. The record-breaking performance highlights Embarba’s impact and contribution to Almeria’s success in the 2022/23 season.Almeria secures their place in the topflight league by finishing 17th on the log with 41 points, just one point ahead of Valladolid who finished 18th.
