Plateau Police Recovered 1,000 Ammunitions Last Year-Compol

Plateau State Police Command has said it recovered about 1,000 ammunition and 26 assorted arms from men of the underworld, even as it lost 15 personnel in various attacks in the preceding year.
The state commissioner of police, Adekunle Oladunjoye, stated this in Jos while briefing journalists on the challenges and success recorded under the period.
According to him, the command, within the out-gone year, arrested 3,378 persons, and currently had 922 suspects in its custody on awaiting trial. Also, 1,935 suspects prosecuted and 1,420 persons convicted for various offenses, while 49 suspects were acquitted.
Out of the offenses, he said there were 37 cases of culpable homicide and 77 robbery cases currently under trial.
He added that they arrested six suspected rapists and recovered 13 vehicles from robbers.
The police commissioner revealed that properties worth millions of naira were recovered from suspected robbers and other offenders.
He reiterated his determination to rid the state of crime in the ongoing year and called for support from stakeholders for this to be a reality.
