Policemen and hunters in Osun neutralize two kidnappers and safely rescue the captive.

In Iwo, Osun State, a combined effort from police and hunters resulted in the rescue of a herder named Alhaji Adamu, who was kidnapped by an 11-member gang in Abase village early Tuesday. A joint operation saw the security forces engaging the kidnappers in a gun battle, where two of the captors were killed and others fled with injuries.

A security insider confirmed, “During the firefight, two kidnappers were neutralized, while others retreated, injured. The rescued victim was later transported to a hospital in Iwo.” The deceased kidnappers were taken to the Iwo police station.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, verified the occurrence and emphasized the need for collective efforts in addressing state-wide crimes.
