“Super Eagles Finish 2023 as Africa’s Sixth-Best Team in FIFA Rankings”

The Super Eagles of Nigeria concluded the year 2023 as Africa’s sixth-best football team, securing the 42nd position globally in the FIFA monthly rankings. Despite facing just one defeat throughout the year, the Eagles achieved an impressive record with four wins and three draws.

In the African rankings, Morocco maintained its top spot, securing the 13th position globally, followed by Senegal in the second position, maintaining their 20th place in the world. Tunisia retained their third position in Africa and 28th globally.

Algeria and Egypt rounded up the top five African teams, finishing the year in 30th and 33rd positions worldwide, respectively. The latest rankings revealed no significant movements among the top teams in the world.

World champions Argentina continued to dominate the global rankings after their 1-0 victory over Brazil in last month’s World Cup qualifier. France, England, Belgium, and Brazil secured the next top positions.

The top 10 teams globally included Holland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Croatia. FIFA is scheduled to release the next rankings on February 15, 2024.
