President Bola Tinubu and former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar have both expressed their condolences following the passing of Cairo Ojougboh, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State. Ojougboh reportedly passed away while watching the semi-finals match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Cairo Ojougboh, who once represented the Ika Federal Constituency of Delta State in the House of Representatives, tragically suffered a fatal heart attack during the Nigeria vs South Africa match, according to a source close to the politician. However, his family is yet to release an official statement confirming his passing.
Tinubu, represented by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, conveyed his sympathies to the Ojougboh family, the government, and the people of Delta State. He offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed and urged the family to draw strength and solace from their faith and the cherished memories of Cairo Ojougboh.
Similarly, Atiku Abubakar took to his verified X account to express his deep sorrow over the loss of his close friend, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh. Atiku described Ojougboh as a shining example of patriotism with an unwavering dedication to Nigeria. He emphasized Cairo’s profound love for the country and the void left in his heart by his sudden departure.
