Former Special Assistant to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Solid Minerals, Dr. Mohammed Abubakar Mohammed, has joined the Kwara state House of Assembly race ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Mohammed vowed to up the representation of his constituency in the Assembly if given the mandate, just as he began consultations with the youths of his Tsaragi ancestral community in Edu local government area of Kwara State towards soliciting their support and blessings.

Addressing journalists in his Tsaragi countryside while making his intention known to his constituents, the former aide on Solid Minerals to Governor AbdulRazaq said his Edu constituency needs an indefatigable person with global recognition like him to make the area and his constituency great again.

He said: “I wish to inform you that I will contest the state House of Assembly election come 2023 so as to bring in new ideas that will rescue the people of his constituency from bad and inept leadership.

“It is high time the people of Tsaragi had a good and strong voice in terms of good representation, and I consider myself as the best candidate for the job.

“This evening, I have come home to engage the youths of Tsaragi ward I, II and III to declare my intention to aspire to become a member of the Kwara state House of Assembly in 2023 to represent my good people of Edu local government area, and indeed I have had a comprehensive consultation tour of my entire constituency in this regard.

“I deem it fit to do this in the centre of Tsaragi where I came from. This evening I have discussed my intention and aspiration with the entire community youths, to tell them what I have in stock to do for them, in terms of giving them a solid and good representation.”

Reacting to his capability and ability to lead his people at the state House of Assembly, Mohammed said he is the only candidate, among other aspirants in the area, that has come with a blueprint, adding that his experience and antecedents put him ahead of others.

“I have outlined my experiences, including my contributions in politics alongside what I have done and I am still doing, as well as what I have in stock for my constituents in terms of development and raising of bills.

“Basically, the assignment of a legislature is to present bills that will make meaningful impact in the lives of the people. I have outlined these for them and they have seen the credibility in me, different from other aspirants that have come to them.

“None of the aspirants has outlined what he wants to do for them, rather they came with dirty politics. I don’t have time for that, but rather to give good representation to my people.

“If elected, I will raise a bill that will enable investors to tap on our solid minerals at Tsaragi and also sponsor bills that will bring about good health care delivery services to the good people of Edu constituency,” the Geologist turned politician promised.

Mohammed, who was elated by the warm reception he received from his constituents, including highly placed indigenes of Tsaragi community, expressed confidence in his ability to lead Edu constituency, if given the opportunity.
