Wike Delivers ₦20m Bounty to FCT Police for Kidnapping Kingpins’ Arrest

The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Benneth Igweh, extended gratitude to Chief Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Minister of the FCT, for fulfilling his pledge to the FCT Police Command.

Wike had directed the FCT Command to track down and apprehend or neutralize two notorious bandit/kidnapping leaders who had been causing havoc in Abuja, particularly in the Bwari, Dutse Alhaji, and Kubwa areas.

In line with his decisive directive, Wike had announced a ₦20 million bounty on the heads of these wanted kidnappers on February 14, 2024. He has now demonstrated his commitment by delivering on this promise following the successful arrest of the two notorious criminals.

A statement from the FCT Command emphasized the minister’s leadership and dedication to ensuring the security and safety of residents through such proactive measures.

The Commissioner ensured that the bounty was distributed among the tactical teams and divisional police officers of the command to enhance their service delivery.

He reassured both the Minister and the residents of the FCT that under his leadership, the command would spare no effort in combating crime and criminal activities. He encouraged residents to remain vigilant and utilize the police emergency lines to report any suspicious activities promptly.
